Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of NutriSnap (the "Service"), including our iOS/Android apps and web app. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
• If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with a parent/guardian’s permission.

2. Accounts and security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

3. The Service

NutriSnap provides tools to help you log meals, exercise, weight, and fasting, view history and analytics, and optionally use features like barcode scanning and AI-assisted nutrition estimation. The Service may change over time (for example, we may add, modify, or remove features).

4. Health & AI disclaimer (important)

The Service is provided for informational purposes only and is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nutrition estimates (including AI-generated estimates) can be inaccurate. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions related to your health, diet, fasting, exercise, or medication. See the Health & AI Disclaimer for more details.

5. Acceptable use

• Do not misuse the Service or attempt to access it using a method other than the interface provided.
• Do not attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by probing, scanning, or testing vulnerabilities.
• Do not reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except where permitted by law.
• Do not use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.

6. User content and data

• Your content: You retain ownership of content you submit (e.g., logs, photos, recipes, notes).
• License to operate: You grant NutriSnap a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, transmit, and display your content solely to provide and improve the Service.
• Your responsibility: You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you submit.

7. Third-party services

The Service may interact with third-party services (for example, Firebase for authentication/data storage, Open Food Facts for barcode lookups, and AI providers for nutrition estimates). Your use of those services may be subject to their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

8. Fees

The Service may be offered for free during testing. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will disclose pricing and terms before you purchase.

9. Termination and account deletion

You may stop using the Service at any time. You can request account deletion in-app via Settings → Privacy → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the Service and users.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NUTRISNAP DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NUTRISNAP WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (A) YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, (B) ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR USE OF OUR SYSTEMS, OR (C) ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE.

12. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless NutriSnap from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of your jurisdiction of operation (update before production). Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in that jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date and may ask you to review and acknowledge updated policies in-app.
